Japan Media Arts festival in Kyoto is coming soon. Winning works at the New arrivals on the manga wall.

Japan Media Arts Festival is a festival of art, entertainment, animation and manga that started in 1997 and is in it's 14th year.

The festival expanded itself within Japan and also overseas from 2002, this year it will come to Kyoto for the first time. It's coming to manga museum and Kyoto Art Center.

We are going to exhibit the Manga section of the festival, you will be able to see one episode of original manga from “Vinland Saga” (Yukimura makoto).

Also there is a talk show with a manga artist Igarashi Daisuke, a chief editor Egami Hideki and an editor Toyoda Yumetaro from "Monthly IKKI" on the September 4th, also a symposium with a game creator Miyamoto Shigeru and our museum director Yoro Takeshi on the 5th.

We are showing short animation selection (120min) which has winning entries from the past.

You can read award wining manga artists books in the new arrival section.

All of the newly arrived books have a blue sticker so please put them back to where they were after you finish reading.

We now have a new sign for the manga expo (foreign language books).

Over here you can read more than 5,000 books that have either been published overseas or translated to a foreign language from Japanese.
