≪Kyoto MaGiC news≫ No.7 "Fashion show"

How did you enjoy Kyoto MaGiC fashion show on the 25th March ?
Let me share the atmosphere.

Rehearsal stared from a day before the fashion show, also ironing, hair make, fitting, practice and facility check were done on the day.
The last rehearsal finished just 30 minutes before the show.

So this is how the venue looked like.
It had flowers around the stage and we had 21 designs shown in the show.

Nakahara Junichi's Yukata were reproduced in 5 different designs.
There were Furisode Yukata (Furisode is for young age people to wear), Kataage (tucking up the sleeves around shoulder to make it able to change the length as the person grows up).
Even the hair style looked very similar to the original illustration.

SOU-SOU also made their originals with the pattern they made from Nakahara's illustration.
These designs were already in the shop at SOU-SOU but it looks like it's made just for the show.

At the last wedding dress from Takahashi Macoto's illustration which is reproduced by verona appeared.
Even the posing looked like the illustration.

Takahashi wanted the design to express Kyoto so it has embroidery on dress and train (the hem of the skirt) in pastel color.

Fashion show finished with all the models on the stage.

The second part of the show was held as a talk event with Takahashi Macoto, verona's designer Arai Minori, representative of Himawariya Nakahara Rikako and SOU-SOU's designer Wakabayashi Takeshi.

The effort that was put into the illustrations, how the social condition was at the time, how designers struggled making the cloth designs...etc, were told at the talk show. Nakahara Rikako spoke about how Nakahara Junichi suffered to express the beauty that only girls have.
Takahashi Macoto mentioned how he devoted himself into drawing girls whom he admired as him being a man.

Wakabayashi pointed the difficulty of reproduction of kimono that he needed to work out how the pattern looks when he puts them together as a kimono.

This fashion show was succeeded with everybody's hard work.
We were happy to see the satisfaction in the result of survey that we took on the day too.
