Liberation

Festival international de la bande dessinee d'Angouleme is one of the biggest comic festivals in Europe. This festival was held in the end January this year and it has 30 years of history.

The festival isn't not just about BD (Bande desinee), it also introduces some of Japanese manga. Ikeda Riyoko who is an author of The Rose of Versailles was invited to the festival this year. She also sang at the Palace of Versailles as she has been a soprano singer.

Through the festival period a newspaper called Liberation published a newspaper with all drawn pictures instead of using photos. ↓

This issue was published on January 27th. Moubarak (4th president of Egypt) and a tennis player Nadal are both drawn as you can see. This is very special and you can feel how art exist in European lives.
