I am portrait artist Higashino Emiko.

Kyoto has become more summer like recently.
How is your day?

I like seeing people lying and reading manga on the green at the ground...!
There have been many foreign visitors too!
Drawing portraits surrounded by many foreign people make me feel like I’ve gone to somewhere overseas to do portraits!

These customers were from Scandinavia!
The dad and daughter I drew. The other artist drew the cousins too!

This Customer came with her sister from Asia.

This couple was from Europe.
Me and the other artist drew each of them separately then I drew two of them together too!

Of course we get many Japanese people too!
If you are thinking about getting your portrait done please make a reservation as you arrive at museum. We sometimes have our booking lists full around early afternoon. You can re-enter to the museum with your ticket throughout the day, so you can always go out and come back!
